BARRE – Fire damaged a liquor store in the Quabbin Plaza on Thursday.Fire Chief Rob Rogowski said the owner of Quabbin Liquors at 578 Summer St. was waiting on a customer when he noticed smoke coming out of a wall around 3:30 p.m. He walked outside and saw flames on an outside wall and called 911.The chief said Barre firefighters put out the fire before mutual aid arrived; Barre had called Rutland, Hubbardston and North Brookfield fire departments to assist.
