LEOMINSTER — The Eugene J. Capoccia Community Center hosted an open house for current, new students and their parents on Thursday, Sept. 29.
The event was to celebrate the beginning of a new school year and to raise awareness for its after-school academic learning center designed for Leominster students.
The center provides students with educational resources to help them achieve their potential in school, done through extra guidance and assistance with homework. The center is supported by donations and grant funding acquired through the Leominster Housing Authority. The program is funded in part by Leominster’s Community Development Block Grant program and the Department of Urban Development.
The Center is a valuable asset to the families of the Allencrest Apartments and the Leominster community.
Formerly known as the Allencrest Community Center, it was re-named the “Eugene J. Capoccia
Community Center” to honor former Executive Director Gene Capoccia.
