Stand back world — the Fantastic Mr. Fox has entered. This year-old Shiba Inu, currently at Lowell Humane Society has charisma and confidence, plus the sunshine-bright fur coat and bushy tail of his breed (and namesake).
Yes, he is fantastic – also fun-loving and fiercely independent. Shiba Inu dogs are the oldest and smallest of Japanese dog breeds.
Bred for hunting, these alert little canines were brought to the states as recently as 60 years ago, and have become very popular because of their liveliness. Speaking of which – Lowell Humane Society requires a training deposit so Mr. Fox, his new person or family can receive the best possible guidance on helping him thrive. He loves long walks, and “engaging play sessions,” to keep him occupied, but he promises plenty of smiles and affection.
