Scenes from the Fitchburg quarries as of Jan. 18 before snow blanketed the region. A large portion of the city and Mount Wachusett in Princeton is visible from the impressive Rollstone Hill vista. According to mindat.org, at least six granite quarries were formerly worked on Rollstone Hill from before 1830 until 1941.

The spectacular view from the Conifer summit trail at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, which opened for the season they day before Thanksgiving. As of the Nov. 30 ski report, five trails and four lifts are open with a solid base of 10 to 12 inches of beautiful, dense, man made snowy goodness.
