The Leominster High baseball team took care of business on the road Wednesday, topping Shepherd Hill, 10-4, to remain undefeated.
The victory lifts the Blue Devils to 3-0 with their next game slated for Friday afternoon at Wachusett Regional.
Reece Lora picked up the win in his first varsity start, throwing five innings of one-run ball. He allowed five hits and struck out six.
Tony Salvatelli blasted a pair of homers, including a grand slam, on his way to driving in eight runs and Jake Richard was 3-for-3 with three runs scored.
Fitchburg 6, Nashoba 3: Steven Escano belted a three-run triple in the fifth to put the Red Raiders (2-0) ahead. Declan Bourgault and Tyler Brassard also drove in runs and James Geehan pitched six innings, allowing three runs on six hits to earn the win.
Lunenburg 8, Tyngsboro 4: Shea Gendron struck out 11 in six innings as the Blue Knights won their opener.
Ayer-Shirley 4, Bromfield 1: Cam Marshall and John Iannacone each drove in a run and Tyler Crawford struck out five in the victory.
Softball
Leominster 4, Shepherd Hill 1: Megan Dube struck out 16 for Leominster (2-1) and Tori Belcastro blasted a home run.
Ayer-Shirley 16, Gardner 4: Gabby Sweeney belted a pair of homers for the Panthers (2-3), while Lauren Reardon had three doubles.
Boys tennis
Nashoba 5, Marlboro 0: Jesse Gjeltema, Victor Xu and Philip Baykov earned singles wins for Nashoba (3-1).
Tyler Brown and Alex Jangro won in first doubles action, while Brian Quill-Schuffels and Leo Lima were second doubles winners.
Girls tennis
Nashoba 5, Marlboro 0: Davita Honig, Maryam Mulyono and Nina Salvatelli swept the singles matches for the Wolves (3-2, 2-0 Mid-Wach B), while the first doubles pairing of Bella Cosentino and Grace Hanley and the second doubles duo of Celia Fontaine and JJ Bravo were also victorious.
Boys volleyball
Ayer-Shirley 3, Collegiate Charter of Lowell 1: The Panthers (1-3) won by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 21-25 and 25-21.
Freshman outside hitter Lukas Biddle had five kills in the win and junior right side and setter David Batchelor had eight assists, four kills and a block as Ayer-Shirley earned the first victory in program history.
Girls track and field
Nashoba 100, Leominster 45: Bella Cotter won the shot put and discus and Erin Farmer took the long jump and 100m dash as the Wolves improved to 2-0 (2-0 Mid-Wach B).
Diamani Canuto won the high jump, 400m and 200m for Leominster (1-1, 1-1).
Worcester Tech 85, Monty Tech 33: Lily Chen won the 2 mile and was third in the mile for the Bulldogs. Alexis Angelini took first in the discus and Kylee Ann McAlister won the 100 hurdles.
