LEOMINSTER — Experience wonderful artwork up close by artist Ryan Randell, as well as the work by other wonderful artists from around the world, at a new art exhibit opening this week.
A “Symphony of Colors” will be celebrated with an opening reception from 3 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Luxama Gallery, located at 45 Main St.
The opening reception will kick off the art exhibition with a visit by Randell and an opportunity to try delicious artisan cheese from Fromagerie Madeline, which Randell and his wife Bonnie own.
Artwork will be on display throughout the month of August. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sundays by appointment.
“As an abstract painter inspired by music, my work is a vibrant fusion of colors and dynamic brushstrokes, capturing the essence of sound,” said Randell. “Starting in architecture in high school, I found that I was bound by the straight lines so I moved towards graphic design, which gave me more freedom to express myself through art.”
Randell says he spent 10 years as a commercial artist in the printing industry where he was able to explore many different techniques of art making.
“I have always been compelled to create art to connect with others on a profound level beyond language,” he said. “The process of creating art is a transformative experience, where each brushstroke and color choice carries intention and meaning, and witnessing a piece come to life brings me the most joy.”
Randell believes that art is more important in the world today than ever.
“It enables individuals to express themselves, communicate across boundaries, reflect and critique society, enrich emotional and intellectual experiences, and bring beauty and inspiration to our lives,” he said.
