FITCHBURG — Despite being in a tractor trailer truck that had just been knocked on its side, the operator involved in a rollover accident on Princeton Road was still able to get himself out.
The truck, filled with what looks like miscellaneous garbage, spilled its cargo all over the roadway Thursday morning but, fortunately, the incident resulted in only minor injuries.
Police say the rollover accident, which occurred while the truck navigated a curve in the road, is still under investigation, according to Fitchburg Police Captain Christopher Garcia.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. Aug. 10, emergency services responded to a report of an accident on Princeton Road that involved a single-vehicle rollover. The operator was able to get himself out of the truck and was waiting at the scene by the time police and ambulance services arrived.
The man was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The Fitchburg Police and Fire Departments responded to this incident in addition to the State Police truck team.
