LEOMINSTER — Recently, Aging Services of North Central Massachusetts received a generous donation of over 1,110 pairs of socks for the local aging community.
The donation came from St. Anna Catholic School located at 213 Lancaster St. in Leominster. Traditionally referred to as “Socks for Santa” ASNCM collaborates annual with Denise Lawson’s sixth grade class at St. Anna’s. This years donation of 1,100 pairs of socks was a testament to everyone who pitched in, Lawson said.
“We [St. Anna School] encourage and teach our students to help those in our community and show empathy by doing”, Lawson said in a press release. “Our Socks for Santa drive is just one way we work together as a school community to help those around us.”
“We are so very grateful to Mrs. Lawson and her 6th grade class at St. Anna’s School. The caring spirit of these children and their families is profound and inspiring. Their generosity will have a positive impact on older adults in our community”, Lori A. Richardson, ASNCM’s CEO said.
