Fitchburg firefighters responded to a small brush fire that was sparked Thursday morning at about 8:40 a.m. by a transformer explosion at the intersection of North Street and Rindge Road. Fitchburg State University Police and Unitil personnel also responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.
