LEOMINSTER – Sisters Bryanna and Olivia Figueiredo held a grand opening celebration in April at the Central Street salon they opened together last fall, Urban Beauty Studio.
The duo grew up in Fitchburg and attended Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School where they both studied cosmetology. Bryanna, 23, has been living in Athol since 2021 and 21-year-old Olivia moved to Hubbardston this year.
Opening Urban Beauty Studio is the realization of a dream for the close-knit siblings that has been years in the making — and the continuation of a family beauty legacy.
“The inspiration to open Urban Beauty Studio all started when we were just kids,” Bryanna conveyed. “We watched both our nana and our mom work as hairdressers and ever since we dreamed of owning a salon together. It wasn’t until we were in a situation where we both needed a place to work [that] we decided it was finally time to follow our dream.”
They officially opened on Sept. 27 and said the response from all of their new and existing clients “has been incredible.”
“We currently have over 10,000 views on our website,” they proudly shared.

A variety of services that can be booked online or by calling the shop at 978-847-0980 are offered at the welcoming, light filled salon including all services for hair as well as eyelashes and makeup. They specialize in lash extensions and hair coloring and lightening services and some of their most popular services are hybrid full sets, light volume full sets, and all blonding services.
Bryanna is the stylist and Olivia one of the two lash techs they have on staff. Olivia is also a brow specialist and is offering some specials next week — $20 off a full set of lashes, $10 off a lift and tint, and $10 off a brow makeover, which includes a lamination, tint, and wax.
When asked what they enjoy most about running their own beauty salon, each girl shared their thoughts.
“There are not enough words to explain how much we love being our own bosses while doing something we are both extremely passionate about,” Olivia said, with Bryanna adding, “being bosses to our employees has been the best experience watching them grow as people and teach them all the things we learned while being in the industry.”
“We wanted to break the stigma as salon owners and bosses when it comes to employees,” they expressed. “We want our salon to be a place for them to grow with no judgement and be confident in their work.”
Future plans and goals include expanding when it comes to their space and team and “eventually add more services so we can be a one stop shop for our clients.” For now, the entrepreneurs are happy to be basking in the glow of their new business.
“We just want to take a moment to thank all of our friends, family and clients for supporting us and making our dreams come true,” they said. “We truly wouldn’t have been able to do this without all of you. Building our business hasn’t been easy but the blood, sweat, and tears were all worth it. We can’t thank you all enough.”
