LEOMINSTER — The Twin Cities mayors will be facing each other through two skilled fighters in what is being called a “high stakes bout” at the upcoming Clash of the Club IV: Night of Champions. The bout, part of a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg, Leominster, and Gardner, takes place this Saturday, Nov. 4.
Bell time is 4 p.m. for the spectacle being held at the club at 365 Lindell Ave., which is sure to draw a large crowd of wrestling fanatics and supporters who will pick sides. Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg, Leominster, & Gardner Senior Director of Development David Ginisi said, “this isn’t just another wrestling event – it’s a celebration of sportsmanship, entertainment, and community spirit.”
“All proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club to support the continuation of our extensive programing for our next generation,” he said.
Hannaford District 20 Director of Operations David DeJohn said he can barely contain his excitement.
“It’s time again to bring wrestlers from all over to entertain the great fans in Leominster while we raise money for the Boys & Girls Club,” he said. “You will see seven great matches including former WWE superstar Fandango as he dances his way to the ring and defends his heavyweight title. You will see many great favorites like Mikey Cheese and Shockwave the Robot return. Also, our main event hosts Team USSR vs. Team USA which will be a battle for the tag team titles and the ages.”
Ginisi said that DeJohn is a wrestler himself and “has always been a big supporter of the Boys and Girls Club. The working relationship is a win-win.”
“The synergy between Hannaford supermarkets and the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg, Leominster, and Gardner illuminates not just the wrestling ring but the spirit of community collaboration,” Ginisi said. “This spectacle is more than a celebration of sportsmanship – it’s a testament to the commitment of local enterprises like Hannaford in championing crucial fundraisers for the Boys & Girls Club.”
